Army Spec. Jay D. Parsons graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
He is the son of Jerry Parsons of Albuquerque and Louanne Alexander of Wichita, Kan.
He graduated in 2000 from Manzano High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 2006 from Wichita State University.

Air Force 2nd Lt. Benjamin L. Wyne III arrived for duty at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Wyne, an air battle manager, is assigned to the 552nd Training Squadron.
He has been in the military for two years and is the son of Ben and Barbara Wyne of Albuquerque.
He also is a 2001 graduate of La Cueva High School, Albuquerque, and earned a degree in 2005 from New Mexico State University.
