Robert L. Larsen was promoted to the rank of chief warrant officer 5 in the U.S. Army. This is the highest rank attainable in the chief warrant officer ranks and pay grades.
Larsen is commander of the Army Materiel Command Band at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., and is a 36-year veteran of the military.
He is the son of Bessie S. Larsen of Ocala, Fla. His wife, Janice, is the daughter of Robert Rando of Siler Lake, N.Y., and Elena Crollett of Albuquerque.

Air Force Airman Samantha F. Lujan graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. She is the daughter of Norma Lujan and sister of David Lujan, both of Albuquerque.
She is a 2006 graduate of South Valley Academy.
