Experience and education: Fry received her law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1981. She had extensive experience as a practicing lawyer prior to her seat on the Court of Appeals on Dec. 1, 2000. Fry served on the Supreme Court's Appellate Rules Committee and as chairwoman of the state Bar Association's Appellate Practice Section. She is a member of the Court Improvement Project Task Force, its Timeliness Subcommittee, and the Board Governing the Recording of Judicial Proceedings. In 1991, Fry received the "Outstanding Contribution" Award from the New Mexico State Bar.
