Los Ranchos Mayor Larry Abraham can't say much about it, but confirmed this morning he will host President Bush at a fund-raiser at his North Valley home later this month for Sen. Pete Domenici.
"It's a historic moment for the entire village and our family," said the mayor, who happens to be an independent.
He couldn't say how his home was chosen for the Aug. 27 fund-raiser — $1,000 to get in, $5,000 to have your photo taken with the president — deferring questions to the White House.
"We're honored to help Pete," said Abraham. "He's an asset to the whole state of New Mexico."
Abraham said his home can probably fit as many donors as the organizers want for the noon reception, adding that the house sits on 13 acres. When asked whether it was an outdoors event, however, Abraham deferred again to the White House.
