SANTA FE A state wildlife officer tranquilized a mountain lion after the 100-pound cat broke through a glass door of a jewelry store on the Santa Fe Plaza.
After a Santa Fe police officer shot and missed the big cat early Saturday, a Game and Fish Officer searched the business and found the cougar hiding in a bathroom.
"When that dart hit him, he pounced around in that toilet stall," Officer John Zamora said, imitating the sound of an enraged lion. "Me and that officer raced to get out and closed the door."
After waiting 15 minutes for the drug to take effect, Zamora placed the cat inside a large kennel, took it to the Chama area and released it.
