Albuquerque residents and businesses this weekend can help keep powerful electronic waste from harming the planet.
The city and Intel New Mexico are teaming up to help get rid of outdated technological devices — including computers, cell phones and office equipment — that contain hazards such as lead and mercury.
The free electronics recycling event is at Balloon Fiesta Park. Drop-off for businesses is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 17. Residents can leave their recyclables from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 18.
Televisions and home appliances will not be accepted. For more information, call the city's information line at 311.
