Going public? Green Rubber Global, the Malaysian tire recycling company bringing its U.S. headquarters to Albuquerque, is "seriously considering" an initial public offering, CEO Vinod Sekhar told London's the Independent newspaper. The company's investors include actors Mel Gibson and Bruce Willis.
Green design: BUILDERnews magazine has recognized two Albuquerque companies in its annual Spirit of the West awards. Its "green/single family" award went to Durano Construction of Albuquerque. Its "conversions: infill that elevates and integrates" award went to Infill Solutions LLC for its work-live or mixed-used projects in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
Rural help: The Loan Fund, a statewide alternative lending group, plans to expand services to rural New Mexico and the Navajo Nation with its $3.5 million award from the New Mexico Small Business Investment Corporation.
More for a buck: Dollar Tree Stores Inc. has opened an 11,000-square-foot store in Rio Rancho's Enchanted Hills Plaza, 4405 Jager Drive.

Double the green: The Jefferson Green building and the Dekker/Perich/Sabatini office within it have each earned an LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The building, 6801 Jefferson N.E., was designed to use 45 percent less energy and 30 percent less water.
Print and mail: A new FedEx Kinko's Office and Print Center has opened at 2611A Coors Blvd. N.W.
Wages settled: Chavez Lathe & Plaster Inc. of Albuquerque will pay $108,456 in back wages to 421 current and former employees, the Labor Department reports.
Specialty care: The Southwest Fertility Center for Men has opened at 610 Broadway Blvd. N.E. The center offers vasectomy reversal and other fertility services for men.
