Engagements

Miller/McDuffee

An onfield kiss at an Isotopes game cemented the relationship of Dora Marie Miller and Shawn Michael Ryan McDuffee.

Miller, of Winona, Minn., and McDuffee, of Rio Rancho, will marry Sept. 22, 2007, in an outdoor ceremony at the home of the bride's parents.

Miller is the daughter of Andrew and Nancy Miller. McDuffee is the son of Gary and Carole McDuffee.

The couple met at a worship school in Colorado Springs, Colo. In April 2006, Shawn brought Dora to Albuquerque for the first time and took her to an Isotopes game.

They were chosen as the sweethearts of the game, where they shared their first kiss on the big screen in front of 5,500 people.

The couple will honeymoon in San Diego, Calif., and stay on Coronado Island. They plan visits to Sea World and Disneyland.

Armstrong/Strober

Maria Magdalena Armstrong says she knew Dean Joshua Strober was special on a first-date cruise around the island of Manhattan in New York City.

Armstrong and Strober will marry Oct. 13, 2007, at the Red Barn in Hunter, N.Y.

The bride is the daughter of Genevieve and Peter Armstrong of Albuquerque.

The groom is the son of Debora and Charles Strober of Middletown, N.Y.

The couple met at a salsa birthday party, and he proposed in the Sandia Mountains on a Christmas Eve hike.

Wedding

Sloan/O'Bannon

Jessica Erin Sloan and Alexander O'Bannon were married April 21 at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

The bride is the daughter of David F. "Stoney" and Christine A. Sloan of Goldsboro, N.C., and the granddaughter of Miriam S. Sloan and the late John F. Sloan of Warwick, R.I., and John L. and Eulalia M. Zilly of Narragansett, R.I.

She is employed as a systems engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation in El Segundo, Calif.

The groom is the son of Timothy C. and Mary M. O'Bannon of San Antonio, Texas, and the grandson of Regina C. O'Bannon, the late Daniel E. O'Bannon, Bebe Krapcha and the late Edward L. Krapcha of Albuquerque, N.M.

He is employed as a systems engineer at Lockheed Martin Corp. in Palmdale, Calif.

The couple, who live in Hermosa Beach, Calif., took a wedding trip to the Tuscany region of Italy.
