The New Mexico Scorpions lost 3-1 to the host Odessa Jackalopes on Saturday night.
The win moved Odessa into sole possession of first place in the Southwest Division of the Central Hockey League.
Andrew Smale scored the Scorps' lone goal.
The Scorpions return home to face the Amarillo Gorillas at 7:15 p.m. Thursday night at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho.
