I watch a lot of bad made-for-TV movies.
"Holiday in Handcuffs" (6 p.m., ABC Family) easily makes the list.
It centers around Trudie (Melissa Joan Hart, "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch"), an artist who pays the bills with a job as a waitress.
With Christmas just days away, her life falls apart as she misses a job interview and gets dumped by the jerky boyfriend her family is expecting to meet.
As a result, Trudie loses her darn mind and abducts the first single guy she comes across.
David Martin (Mario Lopez, "Dancing With the Stars") becomes her hostage and is forced to pretend that he and Trudie are a couple for her parents.
Trudie's parents are a lot on the annoying side, particularly her mom, played by Markie Post ("Night Court").
The only thing more annoying than her would be Trudie's hair for the first 30 minutes. I have never felt more of a need to put someone's hair in a nice braid than I did while watching this movie.
The movie is sappy schlock, perfect for romantics who believe bad hair and kidnapping lead to true love.
At age 30, I've finally given up on new episodes of MTV's "The Real World."
I've replaced it with "The Hills," which follows former "Laguna Beach" star Lauren Conrad as she tries to make it in Los Angeles.
I'm so totally sucked into her world that it's not even funny.
When she had her millionth showdown with ex-best friend Heidi, I couldn't stop watching — even though I had a Lean Cuisine meal burning in the microwave.
"The Hills: Lauren Looks Back" (5:30 p.m., MTV) captures the highlights of the time we've spent together.
Lauren takes a trip down memory lane to revisit some of the most significant choices she has made in her short existence.
From her senior year at Laguna Beach High to her current life working at Teen Vogue and living in the Hollywood Hills, the two-hour special is basically a video scrapbook of Lauren coming-of-age.
It spends lots of time featuring footage from both "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" while Lauren narrates her story and reflects on her romantic past.
Early merry Christmas to me!
