Engagement
Kathryn Marie Myers of Albuquerque and Chad Anthony Schneider of Belen plan to marry June 7, 2008.
Myers and Schneider plan to marry at the Inn at Paradise in Albuquerque.
She is the daughter of Craig and MaryLou Myers of Albuquerque. He is the son of Roy and Emma Schneider of Belen.
The couple met when they were 16 years old and had a high school crush on each other.
That didn't go anywhere, but eight years later they were reunited and picked up where they left off.
The couple got engaged on a hot-air balloon and plan to honeymoon in Costa Rica.
Anniversaries
Benjamin and Fabiola Jaramillo celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 19.
The Jaramillos were married at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque.
The couple took a celebratory trip last month to Puerto Rico, accompanied by their four children, their children's spouses and grandchildren.
Benjamin retired from Sandia National Laboratories, and Fabiola continues to be an avid gardener, antiques collector and homemaker.
The couple enjoy traveling together, collecting antiques and going to the local casinos.

Merl "Pat" and Norma Reed will celebrate 71 years of marriage on Dec. 24.
The couple were married in Jefferson, Ohio, and make their home in Albuquerque.
They have three children, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In a recent phone call with his daughter, Merl Reed said: "I'm so glad your mother is feeling better, because we just came back from a walk, and everybody saw me with the most beautiful girl in Albuquerque."
