"Moonlight" (8 p.m., KRQE News 13), despite its vast amounts of horridness, has quite the fervent fan base.

I guess with the demise of other vampire dramas like "Angel" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," there has a been a vacuum in blood-sucking TV in the past few years.

"Moonlight" has filled in quite nicely for a vocal group of people, even though I just can't get behind the romance the writers are shoving down our throats.

Vampire detective Mick (Alex O'Loughlin) and his lady love Beth (Sophia Myles) do not, do not, do not belong together.

For heaven's sake, she almost became his adopted daughter when his psycho ex kidnapped her to start a family.

That does not make for a heart-melting love story. It's so high on the ick factor that I almost have to dose myself with Pepto Bismol before watching.

Tonight, a dying man puts out a hit on Mick's best friend, Josef (Jason Dohring).

This leads Mick to discover a secret his buddy has kept from him for more than four decades and the real reason Josef believes Mick and Beth can never work.

Because they're gross and make my skin crawl, that's why.

Eew.

Pickings have gotten so thin in the scripted TV land that I'm forced to mention the "2007 World Magic Awards" (7 p.m., My Network TV).

The best illusionist, escape artist and classic magician will be honored in this new awards special.

Among those scheduled to appear on the telecast are Penn and Teller, Rick Thomas, Lance Burton, Mac King and Hans Klok.

"Baywatch" babe Pamela Anderson makes a special appearance. And for some reason, not clear to me, former James Bond star Roger Moore hosts.

Abracadabra.

"It's a Wonderful Life" (7 p.m., KOB-Channel 4) makes its annual appearance for the holidays tonight.

The Christmas classic centers around kind George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) and the circumstances that lead him to contemplate suicide.

An angel shows him what the world would have been like had George never existed, and it ain't pretty.

It doesn't get any family-friendlier or more life-affirming than this. Enjoy.
