Ryan Seacrest is a robot.

That's the only explanation I can come up with for the man's work schedule.

He has a bazillion radio shows, hosts "American Idol" and a show on E, and now he's got "Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve 2008" (9 p.m., KOAT-Channel 7) to contend with, as well.

He's a machine or he's drinking enough caffeine to energize a small European country.

He keeps going and going and going . . .

This New Year's Eve special kicks off a night of celebration that includes musical performances, party coverage from New York's Times Square and elsewhere, and of course, there will be the dropping of the ball at midnight to welcome the new year.

Pop singer Fergie will return to host and perform during the New Year's party celebration in Hollywood.

The Hollywood party will feature performances by Akon, Natasha Bedingfield, Sean Kingston, Plain White T's, Taylor Swift and Will.i.am, who I think has been in every major performance special this year.

Dude, absence can indeed make the heart grow fonder. Get your publicist, agent and "momager" to dial it back a little, por favor.

"Aliens in America" (7:30 p.m., CW) is my third favorite comedy of the year, behind "The Big Bang Theory" and "Samantha Who?"

I'm just not happy with its scheduling, because it conflicts with "Big Bang."

There are only five decent comedies on all of TV - why schedule two of the awesomest against each other?

Thank heaven for reruns and my trusty VCR.

Tonight, foreign exchange student Raja (Adhir Kalyan) convinces the hottest girl in school, Anita (Whitney Anderson), that she shouldn't wear such revealing clothing.

In addition to suggesting she change her look, Raja also has her focus more on her studies and inner beauty.

Justin (Dan Byrd), along with every other guy in school, is quite displeased at first with Anita's transformation. He slowly learns the error of his ways when she starts spending time with the less cool kids - his people.

He also stands up to his mom, Franny (Amy Pietz), and tells her it's time for him to start picking out his own darn clothes.

Atta boy!
