Former Lobo Quincy Black is on track to be a Buc for the next four years.

Black, who was a first team All-Mountain West Conference linebacker last season, signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers late Tuesday.

The agreement allows Black to join the rest of the Bucs reporting to training camp today at Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla.

"The Buccaneers are very excited about what they've seen from Quincy since the draft," said Kevin Omell, Black's agent. "He has continued to impress a lot of people during minicamp and other workouts."

Omell confirmed Black signed a four-year deal but declined to share financial details about the contract. Scout.com reported Black's contract is worth nearly $2.5 million, and the St. Petersburg Times reported Black received an $825,000 signing bonus, with an escalator clause in the final year of the deal that could boost his base salary.

Black, who is 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds, led the Lobos last season with 114 tackles. He also snagged three interceptions he returned for 138 yards and one touchdown.

In a statement, Tampa Bay officials describe Black as one of the most versatile defensive players on the Bucs' roster who is capable of playing all three linebacker spots.

"Quincy continues to work very hard and study the playbook to make the most of his opportunities," Omell said. "I know the Bucs are very happy about what they've seen from him and excited to see him play a role on their defense."

Branch signs with Cardinals: Former Cibola High School star Alan Branch agreed to terms on a four-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals late Wednesday.

Branch is a defensive tackle out of Michigan who was chosen with the first pick of the second round, No. 33 overall in this year's draft. Financial terms of his contract were not released by the team.

The Cardinals report to training camp Friday in Flagstaff, with the first practice scheduled Sunday.
