Albuquerque's Eastdale Majors (11- and 12-year-olds) softball team defeated Colorado's Montrose Little League 10-2 Monday at the Southwest Regionals in San Antonio, Texas.
Eastdale advances to face Elgin (Texas) Little League at 5 tonight in one semifinal. Texas West faces Louisiana in the other semifinal at 7 p.m.
Eastdale takes state: The Eastdale 11-year-old baseball team beat Mile High 20-0 in the championship "if" game to capture the state championship during the weekend. Justin Sanchez threw a one-hitter for Eastdale.
