Ben and Elizabeth Perea celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a blessing and Mass at Holy Family Church.

Ben Perea and the former Elizabeth Chavez were married June 17, 1957, at Sacred Heart Church. They are lifelong residents of Albuquerque.

Ben retired after many years with the AT&SF Railway; Elizabeth retired as office manager for the U.S. Secret Service.

They had two children: Kathleen Marie Perea, who lives in Colorado; and Michael Anthony Perea, who died in January 2006. They also have two grandchildren.
