Flags should fly at half-staff today through sundown Tuesday in honor of Army Spc. Stephen Kowalczyk, 32, who lost his life in Iraq on March 14, the Governor's Office has ordered.

Kowalczyk, a Highland High School graduate, is survived by his mother, Gerry Kowalczyk of Boulder, Colo., a brother and four sisters. He served with the 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division out of Fort Hood, Texas.
