Oh no, not a cigar
The Associated Press asked all the presidential candidates what they'd most want to have with them if stranded on a desert island. Most said either their wife or a book, but Bill Richardson almost won the weird prize with his answer.
He'd take his BlackBerry and a Davidoff cigar. Yikes! Please, stop it with the Bill Clinton memories.
Weirder, however, was the answer from Sen. Sam Brownback, a Kansas Republican: a tarp.
Give the smart prize to Rep. Tom Tancredo, a Colorado Republican. What would he have with him if stranded in the middle of the ocean? What else - a boat.
On the road again
Richardson is headed to New Hampshire next week to campaign before an international convention of firefighters. Richardson will address the Federation of State and Provincial Fire Fighters on May 10 while other candidates - Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, and John Edwards - will speak on May 11.
In 2004, the firefighters backed John Kerry. And you all know how well that worked out.
Uh, thanks but no thanks
Mistress Milliscent, a professional dominatrix from the Seattle area, listed her favorite prez candidates on her blog:
Ron Paul, Republican
Bill Richardson, Democrat
Chuck Hagel, Republican
Tom Tancredo, Republican
Not only is that absolutely bizarre company for Richardson to keep, but we're wondering if that's an endorsement he even wants.
Rating his opponents
The "Nevada Up North" blog snagged a short interview with Richardson while he campaigned in Carson City this week. Our favorite question was what are the best qualities of your Democratic opponents?
His answer:
Obama - oratory
Clinton - intelligence
Edwards - compassion
Biden - experience
Dodd - empathy
Kucinich - passion
Gravel - not sure; I just met him at the debate (in South Carolina last week), but I see some passion there.
