Job help: U.S. Sen. Pete Domenici has asked Labor Secretary Elaine Chao to assign staff from her agency's Dallas office to coordinate job placement programs for the 1,000-plus workers expected to lose their jobs at Intel Corp.'s Rio Rancho plant.

Welcome: Hunt Development Group LP, the El Paso company that developed ABQ Uptown and is part of the group selected to plan a Downtown arena, has opened an office at the Albuquerque Plaza building near City Hall.

Truckin': Bowlin Travel Centers, the Albuquerque company which operates travel centers along interstate highways in the southwest, recently announced its 35th straight year of profits.

Hollywood partners: Albuquerque Studios at Mesa del Sol has announced partnerships with two well-known film-industry vendors. Star Waggons will offer production trailer services. And Quixote Studios will offer productions an array of items like grip tape, lumber and camera supplies.

Foreign interest: A delegation from the Philippines government made a visit last week to GlobalChoice Healthcare in Albuquerque. The company said the delegation discussed becoming members of GlobalChoice's network of domestic and international hospitals.

New board: The Albuquerque Affordable Housing Coalition, a nonprofit advocacy group, has formalized its operations and formed a board. The new president is Mark Allison, executive director of the Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico.
