Don't let the beautiful burgundy booths fool you - but do let them entice you.

There's something very quirky about Yummi House, which, by the way, could be a contender for best fried rice in the Northeast Heights ($5.95-$6.95).

Take just a quick glance at the menu, and you'll find all your favorites here: chicken chow mein ($6.95), sweet and sour chicken ($7.95), Mongolian beef ($7.95).

But study the menu, and you'll see what makes Yummi House different are the items between your favorites.

Take, for example, the appetizer section. Egg rolls ($1.95), pot stickers ($5.95), crab wantons ($4.95) - yawn. But what about jelly fish ($5.95), onion pie ($4.95) or beef pancake ($4.95)?

In the poultry section: crystal chicken ($7.95), described as "white meat sliced chicken stir-fried with Chinese green in crystal sauce." Sundevil chicken ($7.50) - it apparently needs no description, because it has none. All we know is it's spicy.

This isn't exactly adventure dining, but it is definitely out-of-the-rut dining. (Plus, who could resist a menu that features Shirley Temples and Roy Rogerses on it?)

And, best of all, it's a well-priced foray - especially if you stop by during lunch hours. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day, there are 20 specials ranging from $4.75 to $5.95, and all include soup, a chicken skewer, a cheese puff and fried or steamed rice.

Yummy.
