UNM Women's Basketball: Lobos defeat Eastern New Mexico 98-66
The University of New Mexico worn down the Eastern New Mexico Zias in a 98-66 exhibition victory today in front of an announced crowd of 7,555 at The Pit. Dionne Marsh led the Lobos with 20 points and added six rebounds. Amy Beggin continued her steady play with a double-double, finishing with 19 points and 10 assists. UNM started the game on a 9-0 run but Eastern New Mexico used its long-range shooting to keep the deficit close in the first half.
UNM spent most of the first half at the free-throw line, connecting on 20-of-21 attempts. ENMU countered with 3-pointers, hitting five in the first half.
The Lobos took a 42-35 advantage into intermission.
UNM was led in the first half by Amy Beggin, who had nine points and four assists. Dionne Marsh chipped in eight points and Brandi Kimble had six.
ENMU had 11 different players score in the first half, led by six points from Cat Clay on a pair of 3-pointers.
