A southeast Albuquerque teenager has been arrested on charges he stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death during a fight outside a Northeast Heights Starbucks.

Albuquerque police identified the victim as Tram Le, 19.

Jack Nguyen, 19, turned himself in to authorities Friday night, several hours after the stabbing that left another man hospitalized, according to a Metro Court criminal complaint.

According to that complaint, Le and a group of friends pulled into the parking lot of a Starbucks at 2200 Louisiana Blvd. N.E. at about 5 p.m. Friday.

Nguyen pulled into the lot around the same time, and Le called him over and accused him of starting rumors that she and a male friend with her were having a relationship, according to the complaint.

Nguyen began to walk away, but Le threw an iced tea at him, according to the complaint.

Several witnesses whose accounts are contained in the complaint said Nguyen then punched Le in the face. Several of her friends then came to her aid and started fighting with Nguyen.

Moments later, Le and a man identified as Hieu Nguyen, 19, emerged from the fight with stab wounds, according to the complaint. Le died later.

One witness "observed Hieu and Tram walk away and then saw Tram collapse," the complaint says.

Jack Nguyen is charged with an open count of murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence. He is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in lieu of a $1 million cash-only bond.
