The drama about pretty people with superhuman abilities suffered a 15 percent ratings drop from last year, and lots of fans aren't so happy about the plodding plots, as well as all the time spent on new characters.
Series creator Tim Kring has promised to correct these issues, by focusing more on the main stars and restoring cliffhangers at the end of episodes.
Hallelujah.
Tonight, we finally get to see what happened immediately following the heroes saving the cheerleader and the world.
The clock turns back four months, and we find out that Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) paid a terrible cost for his heroic actions.
And while Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) survived his detonation over New York City, the Company "bags" him as a threat to the world, eventually leading to a lovely confrontation with conscienceless Elle (Kristen Bell) and the memory-erasing Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis).
Bring it on.
"The Bachelor: The Women Tell All" (9 p.m., KOAT-Channel 7) is usually the best episode of the season.
That honor was stolen earlier though, by the one where the women took Brad home to meet their families.
Finalist Jenni's grandma absolutely made the season for me when she hammered Brad about drinking and then told him "That little lady ain't no walkin' baby factory."
Crusty old granny — priceless.
So tonight's gathering of rejected bachelorettes is relegated to being second best.
The ladies are reunited to dish the dirt that the five of us still watching the show are desperate to know.
Catfight experts McCarten and Hillary transfer their rivalry from the series to the studio, and neither of them seems able to shut their yappers for a second.
Then Bettina attempts to explain why her family is chock-full of judgmental jerks.
There's also the women's predictions as to whether DeAnna or Jenni will receive the final rose.
For once, I'm not favoring one girl over another. But if it means more time with Jenni's grandma, I'll throw my support to her.
Go grouchy, Granny, go!
