The cinematography and acting are marvelous. The tale of Jesse James and man-crushing wuss Bob Ford is fascinating.
But boring is boring.
This film is like an adaptation of the old books I was assigned my freshman year of college. I never read those books.
James is perfect for Brad Pitt, and he delivers a nuanced performance that finds the right note between an outlaw's audacity and the loss of soul that ultimately did him in.
There are some great things about this movie; if only it didn't shuffle its feet for two-and-a-half hours.
