The line of scrimmage is totally different than anywhere else on the field. You go against the same people every play. You hit them every play. They're grabbing you and you're grabbing them, and there's a bunch of talking going on. It's probably one of the dirtiest places you can be. . . . Last weekend at UTEP, our noseguard Wes (Beck) was on the ground. There was a guy already on top of him and another UTEP offensive lineman drilled him from behind when he was on his knees. They knocked his helmet off. It was the worst play I've seen in a while. . . . One time I got high-lowed. That's where you're getting blocked high and another lineman comes and chops your legs out. It's illegal because you can get your knees torn up. . . . Everyone will probably say I'm more of a pass rusher (than a run stopper), but I like to think I'm equal. I hope to be, because if you're equal you can play more snaps of the ball. . . . I feel I played well (against UTEP) and made plays. But I made a lot of mistakes, too. I guess I was even. . . . It's amazing how much trash talking goes on. Every play, they come up to the line talking, saying they're the best. Sometimes you say it back in different words. . . . I don't play very mad. I play trying to know what the other guy's going to do before the snap. So he'll come up and say something and I'll just laugh. It makes him even madder that it doesn't effect me. . . . The one that made me most proud was in the first game last year. He (the offensive lineman) was like, "When I'm done with you, you're gonna be going home to Georgia." I was thinking "Wow, he knows I'm from Georgia." . . . It wasn't really said in those words. . . . College football is the only sport I can watch on TV. That or Little League baseball. I just don't enjoy the NFL for some reason. . . . My favorite team has to be the New Mexico Lobos, of course, but before I came here, it was the Georgia Bulldogs. That's where I'm from. . . . My top Heisman guys? I don't like to say the same as everyone else. The West Virginia quarterback (Pat White) looked really impressive. They said the Hawaii guy (Colt Brennan) played really good. I hope he does good. That's the WAC, so that would be big for the non-major conferences. . . . I haven't played fantasy football, but I would love to. I just don't understand how to play yet and no one's taught me. I don't think I have enough time anyway. But it seems like so much fun. . . . The shifty guys are more trouble. We're bigger than most running backs. Rodney (Ferguson) is 6-2, 220, so he's pretty big, but that contact's not as bad. If they're little and can move around, it's hard for us big guys to get a hold of them. . . . If you get free in the backfield and it's you one-on-one with a shifty back and he puts a move on you and you miss him, everyone makes fun of you. It's rough. . . . The first thing is trying to figure out if it's a run or pass play. You can tell by the offensive lineman's stance. That's the key. Then you listen to the quarterback's audibles. Throughout the game you can pick up which ones he says over and over and where the ball's going. . . . If it's going to be a pass play, they'll be in a two-point stance. If they're in a three-point stance, they're on their heels getting ready to step back. If it's a running play they're more on their toes. . . . We're really close off the field. If we go eat there'll be at least five other football players. We'll go to people's houses and hang out and play "NCAA" on PlayStation. . . . I feel like sometimes when I'm out I'm in the locker room all over again because we're always around each other. . . . I'm pretty good (at "NCAA"). Michael Touhy's the best I've ever seen at the game. He's undefeated. No, I'm actually the only person to beat him. It was at the very beginning when we hadn't played the game yet. I'm about 1-for-100 against him. . . . The first thing everyone does is go play as yourself and see how good you can make yourself be. . . . It kind of looks like me - shaved head, white guy. I probably would say I'm a little faster than they have me, but you can't judge. . . . This is going to be one of the most exciting games I've played in. I never played the Aggies here before. I watched the one two years ago and the stadium was packed. The fans are amazing, so it's really intense and really fun. Rivalry games are always big. . . . I'm going on my fifth year in New Mexico. This is an exciting town to be in. They love college football so that makes it even better. . . . In Georgia, we really don't have breakfast burritos. I love them out here - they're great. I haven't really gotten into the green and red chile yet, but I'm working on it.
