A father and son are accused of molesting a female relative who was placed in their home after the state removed her from her mother's custody.

According to a Metro Court criminal complaint, the abuse took place during the past four years, during which time the girl was between 12 and 15 years old.

Jerry Trujillo, 55, is accused of repeatedly molesting the girl and asking her for sex.

Jerry Trujillo Jr., 19, raped and molested the girl during 2006 and 2007, the complaint claims. He is also charged with molesting another teenage relative.

Both men were arrested Thursday by the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department. After initially cooperating with investigators and saying he wanted to clear his name, Trujillo obtained a lawyer and refused to give a statement, the complaint states.

Trujillo and his wife adopted the girl in 2006, two years after the Children, Youth and Families Department placed the girl and her brother in their care, the complaint says.

Trujillo is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bond. Trujillo Jr. is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond.

According to the complaint, investigators obtained a letter that appeared to contain an ongoing correspondence between Trujillo Jr. and the girl:

"I told you I don't wanna do that (expletive) no more I'm tired of it and the only reason why I let before was bcuz I was scared," the letter says in a passage apparently written by the girl.

"I was just asking just to have fun I didn't think you where going to get mad it's not like it's something bad," Trujillo Jr. responded, according to the complaint.

The second girl told investigators Trujillo Jr. molested her for several years when she was 11 or 12, but that she stopped going to the house two years ago.

"With your uncle touching you, you wouldn't want to go over there either," she told a detective.
