After we've had our fill of fair-time junk eating, we begin to turn our attention to the comfort foods of fall.
We'll air out our coats and trade our sandals for socks — and we'll do it while thinking of nosh that will warm our bellies.
Soup, this is your chance to shine.
For my Cheap Eater dollars, I'll head over the Nana's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria.
Nana's offers two made-from-scratch soups a day.
We recommend the minestrone, full of soft and flavorful veggies, a few noodles, a tangy, tomato-ey broth and enough pepper to clear up that stuffy nose that also comes around in the fall.
A bowl of soup will cost you just $3.59, and everything at Nana's comes with a tray of steamy fresh bread.
As autumn prepares to settle in and cool the tips of your fingers, you'll be glad for all the warmth you can get. And, Cheap Eaters, we've got a freebie for you: Ask for Table 17 at dinnertime and you can watch the Sandias turn that evening shade of purple.
Cheap Eats highlights delicious items around town that cost $8 or less.
