I don't want to be a sucker for docudramas, yet hard as I try, I can't break away from shows like "The Hills" and "Newport Beach."

It's become an addiction to get caught up in pretty people's drama onscreen and then cyberstalk their bony behinds on TMZ.com.

I could be doing something so much more productive with my life like watching a scripted drama or one of those smarty-pants PBS programs that leave me feeling dumber than a bag of hammers.

The latest addition to my growing list of addictions is "Nashville" (8 p.m., KASA-Channel 2), a reality series tracing the paths of up-and-comers in the city's music industry and high society.

They're all attractive up-and-comers too — no mediocre looks going on here. Kudos to the casting people, because really, who wants to watch singers who don't have symmetrical features and amazing hair?

In the opener, Chuck Wicks plays for record executives while football star Terry Bradshaw's daughter, Rachel, strings along two guys and newbie Mika Combs moves to town.

These three all want a music career, so I get why they're on the show. I haven't quite figured out why Clint Moseley, an executive at his father's jet sales company, who is not following a music career, got put on here. He does make for good TV, though, inspiring one potential romantic interest to text him, "I hope your skin falls off."

Ahh, young love.

After watching both reality shows "Survivorman" (7 p.m., Discovery) and "Man vs. Wild," I'd rather be stranded with "Survivorman's" Les Stroud than "Wild's" Bear Grylls.

Sure Grylls has that cute Scottish accent and Stroud merely possesses that annoying Canadian "eh," but Stroud appears to be a much more practical guy who wouldn't make me drink moisture from elephant poop.

I appreciate that in a survival companion.

This week's remote location is in the Cook Islands of the South Pacific.

Stroud arrives equipped only with scuba gear, plus articles found on the island and scavenged from a shipwreck. We mustn't forget the 50 pounds of camera gear that he has to lug around all by himself either.

Gotta love the freakishly strong and clearly insane foreigners who keep us entertained with their suffering.
