Once a month, a small group of dedicated enthusiasts meet to ponder all things Mac. The Mac Users Group gathering is held at the University of New Mexico Law Library the first Tuesday of every month. Attendees run the gamut from self-avowed geeks to computer novices.
Jeff Twohig, seen here following a photography tutorial on his laptop, has been coming to the "Applequerque" meetings for three years. He uses his Mac at work for tasks that his company-provided PC cannot do.
"For me," he says of his Mac, "it's all about ease of use. I'm not a typer."
This is Steve Hermele's second meeting. After 25 years of being a PC user he says, "I was fed up with taking viruses off, and 15 seconds later they were back."
After watching a demonstration on what a Mac could do with graphics, he says, "My mouth just dropped."
Hermele says the group answers questions he didn't know he had or forgot to ask.
And just in case you go to the next meeting, the group holds a drawing for some trinket whenever a new member joins. The new person always seems to win . . .. Go figure.
