BAGHDAD The death toll in twin car bombings in Baghdad rose to 22 today.
Monday's bombings, targeting a meeting of Sunni tribal leaders, was the latest attack against U.S. allies who have turned against the al-Qaida in Iraq insurgent group.
The attackers managed to penetrate heavy security to leave bomb-rigged cars near a Baghdad compound hosting chieftains from Anbar, the western province where the Awakening Council movement against al-Qaida emerged last year.
