Bernalillo County sheriff's detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man found sprawled in the middle of a dirt road in the far Southwest Mesa Friday morning.
Sheriff's Department spokesman Lt. David Knowles said the department is trying to identify the man.
"He has a tattoo on his upper right arm of a castle on a hill," Knowles said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the department's tip line at 980-2496.
Knowles said the man's age, race and other case details are not yet being made public. The man was reported to the Sheriff's Department at about 5:30 a.m.
Knowles said his body was located on a remote road near Paseo del Volcan and the Rio Bravo extension.
