Domenici retires
Sen. Pete Domenici retires after nearly 50 years.

Pete Domenici's candidate photograph for the 1966 Albuquerque City Commission revealed a young lawyer on the rise. He was elected to the commission — the forerunner to today's City Council — and later became a U.S. senator.
